It's for students who need extra help performing up to their abilities. Students who need more challenging material to engage their higher IQ's. Or who want to gain a competitive edge before taking their SAT's.
Classes of twelve to fifteen students are guided by two instructors, for a teacher/student ratio that gives each student unparalleled attention to their needs.
Some people are visual learners - they need to see or read what's being discussed. Their eyes are the gateway to new knowledge. Some are audio learners. They do their best learning by listening to the spoken word. Still others are tactile learners - they need to get their hands on something before they can bring their full attention to bear.
At Warner School, we not only recognize these different styles of learning, we're able to take each student's best learning path into consideration and design a study course based on that student's learning style.
Here at Warner School we stress the importance of showing respect to teachers and fellow students. We believe strongly in personal accountability and practicing civility.
Our standards are high, yet obtainable by all students.
Having the right attitude and behaving appropriately are both crucial to learning. This is spelled out in detail in our Student Handbook and each new student is required to sign their copy of the handbook to acknowledge their understanding of, and commitment to the Honor Code and school policies.
Whether they're aiming for entry into college or directly into the workplace, Warner School students learn all the aspects of what's going to be expected of them.
Our students are taught to act as if they were already in a business environment. Even our dress code is stricter. No hats may be worn inside the school. No provocative clothing is allowed.
For some students the Warner School may be the first truly positive educational experience they've ever had - resulting in a level of achievement they've never known before.
We want future professors and employers to see someone with the right knowledge, abilities, skills and attitude to be ready to pursue success in whatever field they choose.
You know they can do better. They just need a little extra help getting the skills, knowledge and motivation to not only catch up, but to assume their rightful place in the top half of the class.
Roseburg's new Warner School gives them all the help they need. We provide in-person and online tutoring as well as complete academic programs in the following areas:
You know what the problem is. Ordinary schoolwork is not enough of a challenge for really bright students. So they act up, or act out or just act bored.
They need more stimulation. More advanced material. Something they can really get plugged into. The Warner School is where they find all that and more.
Accelerated math, science and writing courses are just part of what's available for the higher IQ student at the Warner School. Our students can arrive at college already at the head of their class.
Maybe your teenager needs to catch up in some subject. Or maybe they want to prepare for college with subjects not even offered in the regular school curriculum. But summer school has all but vanished. Until now.
You know the SAT is the most important test of your son or daughter's young life. It's a key factor in determining whether or not they get into the better colleges. It can make the crucial difference in winning scholarships. It can open the doors to rewarding careers.
And it's extremely competitive. In just four weeks at the Warner School, your child will significantly improve his or her SAT-readiness.
First, we test each student to determine the areas in which they need the most help. Based on this information we design the course of study and set goals.
The intensive study course takes place on four to six consecutive Saturdays. Each session lasts two hours and involves a lot of one-on-one time with instructors. Between sessions the student is assigned online-guided homework using the award-winning PLATOŽ system of advanced study. The student's progress is closely monitored. If sufficient progress is not being made, the instructor and the student will work together to identify the problem and modify the course accordingly.
By the end of the study course, the student will have significantly strengthened their abilities and enhanced their prospects for a higher SAT and a better chance for winning placement in the college of their choice.
The PLATOŽ system is the leading provider of Personalized Instruction and Standards-Driven Assessment and Accountability.
PLATOŽ learning helps sustain continuous academic improvement for learners of all ages from kindergarten to adult.
At Warner School, we utilize the Middle School, High School and General Equivalency (GED) advancement courses, as well as two and Four year "College Solutions" to aid learners in attaining college-level and pre-vocational skills.
At Warner School we utilize PLATOŽ assessment tests targeted at middle school and high school students. Some of these tests provide automatic learning paths to PLATOŽ courseware for each student, whereas others provide a detailed assessment report on which we base a personalized study course design.
The PLATOŽ National Writing Practice Test aligns to national writing standards. These tests allow us to determine each student's test readiness, conduct periodic reassessments, and help improve student performance on high-stakes tests such as the SAT.
For more information you may wish to visit the PLATOŽ website.
